To mark the 650th Jubilee of the Jagiellonian University, the Jagiellonian Library holds an exhibition comprising manuscripts acquired since the beginning of the present century. They include items purchased by the Library and donated to its collection, mainly by individual persons, as well as the manuscripts that have been identified while cataloguing or conserving items from the existing Library resources.
The exhibition contains personal documents, memoirs and photographs, archive records, literary and artistic works, dedications, as well as correspondence. Special parts of the exhibition will be devoted to the history of theatre and to artistic book covers.
The visitors will have a rare opportunity to see one of the most beautiful recently acquired manuscripts – the richly ornamented parchment document of king Sigismundus III, confirming the privileges of Szembek family.
