International conference: “Knowledge Organization in the 21st Century: Between Historical Patterns and Future Prospects”

The International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO) and the Institute of Information and Library Science of the Jagiellonian University are organizing an international conference dedicated to various aspects of knowledge organization in different countries, scholarly disciplines, and areas of professional and practical activity. The conference is to be held in Kraków at the Jagiellonian University from 19 to 22 May 2014.
The Conferences have been organized by the International Society for Knowledge Organization every two years. It is the first time the conference is held in Poland. The organizers expect the participation of numerous eminent researchers from all over the world. Due to the 25th anniversary of ISKO, the conference may be an occasion to discuss the future of the organization, including its development prospects in various countries.
Key dates and deadlines:
·   31 October 2013 – deadline for extended abstracts and poster proposals,
·   30 November 2013 – information about the acceptation or rejection of abstracts and posters,
·   15 January 2014 – deadline for final versions of papers and posters (in the form that is ready for print),
·   31 January 2014 – first conference fee deadline,
·   15 April 2014 – second conference fee deadline,
·   19 May 2014 – start of the conference.
